Sinners In The Way

Remember not the sins of my youth, nor my transgressions: according to thy mercy remember thou me for thy goodness’ sake, O LORD. Good and upright is the LORD: therefore will he teach sinners in the way. the meek will he guide in judgment: and the meek will he teach his way. All the paths of the LORD are mercy and truth unto such as keep his covenant and his testimonies. Psalm 25:7-10

God will not only guide and teach the righteous in the way, but also sinners. It’s all about his goodness and mercy. No matter where you find yourself in life, even just struggling to overcome what are called easily besetting sins, God will not abandon you. Not everyone struggles with the same sins. Some sins are more publicly obvious, and easier to fall back into than others. Substance abusers, for example, are often also struggling with natural addictions, rather than just our all too human sin nature. We only need to put on a little humility and become meek in acknowledging our errors, and our need for God’s grace to change.
